5 Step Guide to New Instagram Stylists

Decide If You’re a Good Fit For Instagram

Before you even think about making money with Instagram, you need to make sure it’s a career you want to be in. That means you need to determine if it’s something you love to do. You also need to assess if Instagram is something you would be good at.

There are a few questions to think about before you decide if this is something you want to do. Are you creative? Do you enjoy styling pictures? Can you work with different clients and styles? Are you willing to learn new skills?

To make sure it’s something you love, test drives the platform. Take a few weeks to spend some time on Instagram. Spend time exploring the platform, paying attention to the ways it’s different from other social media platforms and the ways that it’s similar. If you still feel this is something you love to do, then you’re ready to start building a business on Instagram. If not, you might want to look into other ways of making money online.

Build your Instagram presence

The first step to becoming an Instagram stylist is to build a strong Instagram presence. This means you need to publish a number of high-quality photos on a daily basis. Don’t just post one outfit or one photo of your hand-made jewelry on your feed. Start posting regularly and consistently. This will help to build a following on Instagram and increase your chances of getting more engagement.

Your goal should be to have 1,000 followers by the end of the first month. If you’re new to Instagram, this may seem like an impossible task. But it’s not as hard as you think. It only takes around 20 minutes a day to consistently publish a high-quality photo on Instagram. Once you have 1,000 followers on Instagram, you can start looking for clients.

Once you have a strong Instagram presence, it’s time to link your other social media channels. This will help to increase your online presence and make your Instagram feed appear more relevant to your other followers. You can link your other social media accounts in your bio on Instagram. This will help to make your bio look more professional and attract more followers.

Establish a Strong Brand

Once you have a strong Instagram presence, it’s time to establish a strong brand. This means you need to create a unique username and bio for your Instagram account. Your photos should reflect your professional brand and your Instagram account.

Your Instagram bio should include your business name, your location, and your services. Think about which words would be best to use and how to use them in your username. This will help to create a strong brand and make your Instagram account look more professional.

Try to use words and phrases that will attract more customers to your account. For example, if you’re a stylist, use words like “stylish,” “fashion,” “design,” “photography,” “glamour,” and “beauty.” If you’re an artist, use words like “art,” “photography,” “graphic design,” and “illustration.”

It’s important to make sure your brand is consistent and professional. This will make your Instagram account look more professional and attractive to potential clients.

Work On Building Your Own Personal Brand

Once you have a strong Instagram account, it’s time to work on building your own personal brand. This means you need to start thinking carefully about how you want to be perceived online. What words would you use to describe yourself? What’s your vision for your online personal brand? If you’re a stylist, how would you like your Instagram account to reflect this vision? What makes you different from other Instagram accounts?

Once you have determined your online personal brand, it’s time to start posting on Instagram. Post your high-quality photos on a consistent basis. Include your location and use powerful captions and hashtags that reflect your online personal brand. Find new ways to repurpose old photos.

For example, if you have a collection of old photos that you no longer need, but are still lying around, you can turn them into Instagram memes. The idea behind this is to create new, exciting photos that reflect your online personal brand.

Ways To Make Money On Instagram Being a Stylist

Online Courses

First on my list on how to monetize as a creator would be through online courses.

Because here’s the reason. Believe in courses as a big monetization tool when it comes to making money on Instagram. There are a few reasons, first, it’s scalable. You don’t have to no longer trade your time for money. But secondly, it’s not dependent on a follower account and this is what’s really cool.

A lot of times creators stress out about how many followers they have on Instagram and why aren’t they making money. The fact is it depends on how many people in your follower base are actually gonna purchase from you. You don’t really need that many in order to make a good living.

Another reason I love online courses is that they could be for people in any niche. That’s why I recommend courses as a way to monetize on Instagram.

Selling Content

Now, the second big way creators are making money on Instagram is by selling their content.

Instagram is a photo platform and I know it’s gonna be transferring more to video. So when I say selling their content I’m mean your video and photo content. But what I mean is you guys are creating awesome content and you’re putting it on your page. But your page is actually almost like a portfolio for you. While I often say creators should have an additional portfolio because everything doesn’t make it to the gram especially if you have a small follower count. Pitching content is the way to go in order to make money.

The clients are always in search to hire micro influencers or nano influencers. They don’t care about your follower count they care about how good your content is. So if you are trying to make money on Instagram and you’re really talented whether it be photo or video skills. Then sell those services as a way to make money. I see this day in and day out creator community make a killing by reaching out to brands directly.

Pitching To Brand

My third tip obviously a big way people are making money on Instagram is pitching to brands.

You’re starting to see this a little bit more with creators that have bigger followings. But don’t be fooled one of the big things that more and more brands are realizing is the importance of the micro influencer and the niche influencer.

If you have a niche account then brands are more likely to want access to your audience. So you don’t have to worry if you have a small account you can still pitch to brands. And creators are making money by pitching to brands.

I don’t think it’s going to slow down anytime soon because the influencer marketing industry is on a boom and it’s still continuing to grow.

Creator Monetization Tools

Another way creators are monetizing on Instagram is through all the creator Monetization tools that Instagram has set in place. Obviously, there are a bunch of different tools that are being released weekly and monthly. Instagram is making a big investment into the creator market so we’re gonna see a lot more things coming down the pipeline.

But for example when we think about native affiliate tools that Instagram is gonna be rolling out or when Instagram pays a creator for a real. They’re giving you bonuses, badges, or all the other little ways that end up adding up for creators to monetize. Now I do want to add that this is like the small trickles of income. This is not a massive piece of the pie for a lot of people when they’re starting out but it all does add up.

Affiliates

Another way creators are monetizing is through affiliates. The same premise here on Instagram. Again it depends on your reach, your influence, and the number of followers you have. Also the number of people that are clicking up and swiping up.

You could set up an affiliate with brands that you love. Promote that affiliate and get a commission from the sale. And promoting them on Instagram and things of that nature.
